The Hard Times Band (HTB) was conceived approximately nine years ago. Travis Bennington, singer/songwriter had been performing for over ten years prior to the band’s formation. He had been writing his own music since he was a child, but had been playing other people’s music out in public venues. Travis and those around him realized that the material that he was writing and singing in private needed to be shared with the public. Since then, though a number of the band’s members have evolved in and out of the project, Travis has remained true to his craft and continues to write and perform his music. In 2005, the band released its first studio album containing eleven original songs. Recently, HTB’s self-titled album was released and is now available for purchase. In late fall of 2008, HTB’s third album, “The Naked Album” containing all acoustic works will be available to the public. HTB is one of the only bands in the Midwest that regularly play four sets of original music which is fun, well-written, masterfully sung and professional. The Hard Times Band has never played a cover song to an audience in its eight years of existence. They are original through and through.
